Washington, DC — The global law firm Jones Day has announced that its Amsterdam Office opened February 1 and will move to its offices at Museumplein 17 from its current temporary offices in April. As part of Jones Day Amsterdam’s official opening, the Firm also announced that Marcel van de Vorst and Marc Rijkaart van Cappellen have joined the new office as M&A partners.
Mr. Van de Vorst has a broad transactional and corporate advisory practice involving technology, life sciences. and growth businesses at all stages of development. He has represented global companies, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and other institutions that fund the sector. Mr. Van de Vorst’s experience includes transatlantic deals involving Asia and the United States. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, which cite him as “an absolute star who is in a class of his own.”. Mr. Van de Vorst earned his law degree at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Mr. Rijkaart van Cappellen has a broad transactional and corporate advisory practice that includes capital market transactions, corporate governance, joint ventures, public and private M&A, and restructuring. He also has extensive experience in cross border equity offerings and structuring of international deals with a focus on the United States and Latin America. Mr. Rijkaart van Cappellen has been appointed by Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands as civil-law-notary (“notaris”). Mr. Rijkaart van Cappellen earned his (notarial) law degree at the University of Amsterdam.
