Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck Expands, Opening Orlando Office and Adding Litigation Partner and Two Associates

(October 17, 2019, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) — Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck LLP (KDV), a leading national law firm, today announced that it is expanding in Florida with the opening of an Orlando office and adding litigation Partner Abbye E. Alexander and Associates Andrew L. Burnstine and Christopher J. Perini. The firm opened its first Florida office in 2011 in Boca Raton before moving it to Ft. Lauderdale in 2018.

Alexander is the third partner to join KDV in Florida this year. Perry F. Sofferman,  chair of the firm’s new Corporate and Intellectual Property Practice, and  Maritza I. Gomez, a labor and employment partner, joined the Ft. Lauderdale office in July. Alexander, Burnstine and Perini join KDV from the Orlando offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. All three will be located in the KDV Orlando office.

Alexander’s practice includes civil litigation and complex business litigation. She represents local and national businesses, associations, and individuals in various business-related matters. She also handles insurance defense to include premises and general liability. In addition, she handles intentional and negligent torts, construction litigation, landlord-tenant disputes and labor and employment matters, including claims of retaliation and discrimination in state and federal court as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC).  She has also defended business related matters for a wide range of medical specialties involving nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other long-term care facilities.  Alexander earned her B.A. from Arcadia University and her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. She is on the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.

Burnstine’s practice focuses on civil litigation and includes a broad range of general liability involving premises liability, construction related claims concerning job site accidents and injuries and construction defects, professional malpractice defense and commercial real property and landlord-tenant disputes.  He also handles employment practices defense litigation. He earned his B.S. cum laude from Florida State University and his J.D. cum laude from Florida State University College of Law.

Perini focuses his practice on general civil litigation, complex business litigation and insurance defense disputes, including premises liability, automobile negligence, products liability, construction defect disputes and negligent security. He earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
