Kensington Swan is delighted to welcome Heida Donegan to the partnership in the latest wave of firm promotions which are aligned with the firm’s continuing growth.

Heida joined the firm in 2015 as Senior Counsel with the goal of building and growing for the firm an Asian business practice specialising in advising Asian (and particularly Chinese) entities on their inbound investment in New Zealand.

Heida is an experienced M&A practitioner and has over 20 years’ experience in cross-border investment. In her prior role, Heida was a partner at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (now Clyde & Co), having worked in London, Hong Kong and China. Her presence as Head of Asia Business has significantly enhanced Kensington Swan’s ability to provide legal advice on inbound investment from Asia. Heida is a recognised leader and a go-to specialist in the field. She has also recently been elected president of the Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association.

Chris Parke, corporate partner said, “I’m delighted that Heida joins the partnership at Kensington Swan. Heida’s international experience and impressive skill-set, along with her drive to develop a wide network of contacts,  enables her to effectively manage complex cross-border transactions. Her undoubted expertise, relentless drive and commitment will add depth to our practice and be a great asset to the firm.”

Charles Spillane, CEO, added, “I’m thrilled to welcome Heida to the partnership. She is a well-liked leader at Kensington Swan and her energy and enthusiasm for delivering an unbeatable client experience is at the heart of her thriving and growing practice. Heida’s focus and commitment to growing a leading Asian business practice in New Zealand has been deservedly recognised by her clients and the firm and we look forward to seeing her develop this further.”
