Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Russ Wofford has joined the firm in Atlanta as a partner in the Litigation Department. Mr. Wofford, whose practice will focus on antitrust and complex commercial litigation, will be a member of Kilpatrick Stockton’s internationally-recognized Antitrust Team.
“Russ is another outstanding addition to Kilpatrick Stockton’s Litigation Department,” said Steve Clay, Litigation Department Chair. “He will be a valuable resource for firm clients on a wide spectrum of matters.”
“Russ’s extensive experience in the antitrust arena, including substantial trial and arbitration work, will enhance an already deep Antitrust Team,” added Connie Robinson, Antitrust Team Leader.
As lead counsel, Mr. Wofford has represented multiple Fortune 500 companies in actions involving antitrust claims, commercial lease disputes, consumer fraud statutes and breach-of-contract claims — both as plaintiff and defendant. In addition to his substantial trial and arbitration experience, Mr. Wofford has several times successfully negotiated settlements with law enforcement agencies to avoid their bringing claims against major corporations.
Mr. Wofford currently serves as Vice Chair of the Exemptions and Immunities Committee of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section, has recently joined the Board of the State Bar of Georgia’s Antitrust Law Section and is a contributor to Antitrust Law Developments, the most authoritative antitrust treatise available. He has published several articles on antitrust-related subjects, most recently “Considering the ‘Pattern Litigation’ Exception to the Noerr-Pennington Antitrust Defense,” in The Wayne Law Review.
Mr. Wofford is a member of the Atlanta, California, Georgia and American Bar Associations, and the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Mr. Wofford graduated from the University of Chicago (J.D.), the University of Glasgow (M. Phil) and Princeton University (A.B.).
