ATLANTA (June 2) – LawFuel.com – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Charles Hooker, an attorney in Kilpatrick Stockton’s Intellectual Property Department, recently received the prestigious Kerry Harike Joedecke Atlanta Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the Atlanta Bar Association (ABA).
Mr. Hooker was honored with the Kerry Harike Joedecke Atlanta Young Lawyer of the Year Award for serving as Chair of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers (ACYL) Associate’s Campaign for Legal Services. The ACYL began the campaign in 2000, as a grass-roots effort among associates across Atlanta law firms to raise money for non-profit organizations in Atlanta providing pro bono legal services. The award was presented during the “Year-End Social Event” for members of the ACYL.
In addition to his award, Mr. Hooker was recently selected to serve on the Atlanta Bar Association’s Reputation and Public Trust Committee and on the Board of the ACYL Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. The Atlanta Bar Association’s Reputation and Public Trust Committee is committed to enhancing the reputation of lawyers, judges, and the legal system and includes area lawyers, law professors, and Judges. The Board of the ACYL coordinates the efforts of younger members of the Bar to promote the general welfare of the Atlanta Community and encourages members to participate in community service projects.
Mr. Hooker focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including cases involving copyrights, trademarks, unfair competition, and Internet disputes. He also devotes a substantial amount of time to pro bono litigation matters, including work with the Southern Center for Human Rights and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
