LOS ANGELES (May 7, 2009) – Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a leading California law firm, today announced attorney Mark A. Vega has joined the firm’s growing Los Angeles office. Vega will be Of Counsel in Luce Forward’s business/corporate practice. Vega’s practice focuses on entertainment, marketing and advertising and new media matters. His clients include entertainment content financiers, producers and distributors as well as advertising agencies and commercial production companies.

In his practice Vega’s projects include creating and maintaining entertainment production and distribution funds, negotiating agreements for the acquisition of literary properties and providing film production services. His advertising and marketing experience ranges from establishing standard operating procedures for the creation and exploitation of intellectual property to working with corporate clients who are integrating their brands into entertainment content.

Vega was most recently General Counsel/IP Steward at Omelet, a Los Angeles-based version 2.0 advertising and marketing agency he co-founded. Prior to Omelet, he was Of Counsel at Greenberg Traurig in the firm’s entertainment and new media practice. Vega received his both Juris Doctor degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.
The addition of Vega follows the recent move by corporate attorney and Partner, John C. Kirkland, to Luce Forward’s Los Angeles office. Kirkland focuses on corporate and securities matters including public offering and private placements of debt and equity securities, public company reporting, venture capital financing, negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, tender offers and going private transactions, special committee, audit committee and corporate compliance issues. Vega and Kirkland previously practiced together when they were among the first attorneys hired by Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles based entertainment practice.
