LAWFUEL – Law News, Law Jobs Network – Chambers and Partners have rewarded Allen & Overy’s performance in the Middle East with the title ‘Middle Eastern Law Firm of the Year’ at the Chambers Global Awards 2006.
The award gives Allen & Overy’s Middle East practice a hat-trick, following its success at the IFLR Awards in September, where Allen & Overy won both the ‘Middle East Law Firm of the Year’ and ‘United Arab Emirates Law Firm of the Year’ titles.
The accolade acknowledges that 2006 has been another exceptionally strong year for the team, during which they advised on a string of high-profile deals in the region including Kingdom Hotel Investments’ IPO, Pakistan’s USD2.65 billion sale of a 26% stake in Pakistan Telecommunications Company, the USD2.2 billion financing for Dubai Holdings’ acquisition of Tunisie Telecom and the USD1 billion Oman Aromatics project.
