LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – The NY Post reports: The law firm has a swanky Madison Avenue address, but its out-of-court antics were strictly down and dirty, a female attorney claims.
Nancy Pitkofsky alleges partners at her former firm, Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz, pulled stupid frat-house pranks, including encouraging a drunken secretary to lap dance for the firm’s male partners.
In her $24 million sex-discrimination lawsuit filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, Pitkofsky said she spent eight years doing excellent work as a real-estate lawyer at the firm, but was denied a partnership because she’s a woman.
The suit claims former senior partner Stuart Saft blocked her promotion and supported a male associate instead.
Pitkofsky’s complaint also contends the firm engaged in discriminatory acts, including one in which a secretary was “passed around among the male partners” to lap dance.
