Linklaters has intensified its push into the US legal market with the hire of veteran litigators H. Christopher Boehning and Daniel Levi from Paul Weiss, bolstering both its disputes capability and its global sports practice. Boehning will chair Linklaters’ Global Sports Practice and US Strategic Disputes group, bringing heavyweight clients including FIFA and Regeneron. The move continues Linklaters’ aggressive New York expansion as international firms compete for elite talent and increasingly lucrative cross-border mandates.

Linklaters is delighted to announce that H. Christopher Boehning has joined the firm as a Partner and Chair of the Global Sports Practice and U.S. Strategic Disputes, while Daniel H. Levi has joined as a Partner in the firm’s Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice — both in New York.
The team, which joined from Paul Weiss, brings world-class commercial disputes expertise for clients such as leading biotech company Regeneron, as well as a premier sports practice supporting clients such as FIFA in relation to the 2026 World Cup. Their recruitment further strengthens Linklaters’ global offering and marks another milestone in the firm’s transformational growth in the U.S., following the addition of elite teams across M&A, disputes, and finance.

Chris is a renowned litigation partner with more than 30 years of experience representing clients in a wide variety of complex commercial and civil litigation, insurance-related disputes, regulatory enforcement and inquiries, internal investigations, and international arbitration. He also brings extensive sports sector expertise, serving as lead counsel to FIFA on a broad range of litigation, arbitration, corporate, and regulatory matters, including securing $201 million in compensation from the U.S. Department of Justice and the dismissal of a landmark antitrust lawsuit.
Chris served as co-chair of Paul Weiss’ sports, international, and insurance practices, and chair of the international arbitration practice. His broader practice spans a wide range of U.S. and global clients across the financial, pharmaceutical, chemical, and energy sectors, among others. He and Dan also maintain a robust pro bono practice, with a particular focus on gun violence prevention.
Dan has more than 25 years of experience handling complex litigation in a variety of substantive areas including product liability, insurance litigation, M&A litigation, and general commercial disputes. His accomplished record spans all aspects of pretrial, trial, and appellate work in state and federal courts, and numerous matters in international arbitration. He has also handled civil and criminal regulatory matters, and internal whistleblower investigations.
Their arrival further strengthens Linklaters’ U.S. disputes bench following the addition of a leading trial team led by Chair of the Trial Practice Adeel Mangi and Partners Muhammad Faridi, Diana Conner, and George LoBiondo, and a top international arbitration team led by Co-Head of International Arbitration Joe Profaizer.
