Mayer Brown further strengthens private equity practice with hire of Perry Yam in London

London, 11 February 2016 — Mayer Brown has strengthened its private equity offering with the hire of Perry Yam as partner and Head of Private Equity in London. Perry’s appointment is part of an ongoing, global initiative to expand the firm’s private equity offering.

Perry, who was Head of Private Equity for Europe & the Middle East at Reed Smith, has considerable experience across many elements of private equity, including venture and development capital, buyouts, secondaries and bolt-on acquisitions. He also advises management teams on equity arrangements and exit transactions, whether by way of trade sales, secondary acquisition or flotations. Prior to joining Reed Smith in 2012, Perry spent 20 years  at SJ Berwin.

Perry acts for a number of UK and US-based private equity houses advising on their buyout transactions encompassing a wide range of sectors particularly, finance and technology, healthcare, renewable energy, business services and leisure.
