Moray & Agnew Promotions Follow Other Australian Law Promotions

Moray & Agnew has recently announced a round of promotions in July 2023, resulting in the advancement of 14 lawyers to more senior positions across five of the firm’s seven offices.

According to a statement released by the firm, these promotions reflect the firm’s commitment to meeting the growing needs of its clients in various geographical locations and legal domains.

Tracy Bennett, Daniel Coloe, Sarah Hammond, Julian Kenda, Stephanie Lee, Helene Tretheway, and Joan Williams are among the newly appointed partners at Moray & Agnew. Julian Kenda and Stephanie Lee operate from the firm’s Sydney office, while Daniel Coloe and Tracy Bennett are based in Melbourne and Perth, respectively. Sarah Hammond, Helene Tretheway, and Joan Williams are situated in the firm’s Newcastle office.

In addition to the partner promotions, the firm has also elevated four lawyers to the role of special counsel. Furthermore, three individuals, namely Karina Ross, Timothy Skinner, and Lilian Zhou, have been promoted to the position of senior associates.

This announcement follows Moray & Agnew’s previous promotions in December 2022, where 13 professionals were recognized for their achievements, including two new partners, nine special counsel, and three senior associates.

The legal industry has witnessed numerous promotions in recent months. Corrs Chambers Westgarth announced the appointment of three new partners, while Ashurst promoted 13 Australians to its global partnership in mid-April. Herbert Smith Freehills named 10 new Australian partners and announced seven additional senior promotions. Allen & Overy (now Allen Overy Shearman) welcomed three new Australian partners, and DLA Piper introduced two new partners in Australia. Clyde & Co also announced the appointment of seven new special counsel in their Australian offices in early May.

Geoff Connellan, the national managing partner of Moray & Agnew, congratulated each of the promoted lawyers, expressing gratitude for their hard work on behalf of clients and their continuous contributions to the firm.
