The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) has again given MoFo a perfect rating on its 2013 Corporate Equality Index, reflecting the firm’s ongoing commitment to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality.
Each year, the HRC invites Fortune’s 1,000 largest publicly traded businesses and The American Lawyer’s top 200 grossing law firms to participate in the survey. MoFo has received a perfect score every year since 2003.
MoFo continues to score flawlessly on what is perhaps the mostly commonly used LGBT benchmarking tool, even as the selection criteria become increasingly stringent. Major components of the survey include providing equal benefits for same-sex partners and spouses, ending benefits discrimination for transgender employees and dependents, demonstrating firm-wide organizational competency on LGBT issues, and demonstrating firm-wide public commitment to the LGBT community.
