NEW YORK, Sept. 9 , 2004 LAWFUEL – Best for law news, legal news, law, attorneys, law research — Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has received
the number one ranking in The American Lawyer’s 2004 “A-List” of the most
elite law firms headquartered in the United States.

The ranking, which appears in the September 2004 issue of The American

bono performance, associate satisfaction and diversity of the workplace at the

“These A-List firms have an institutional commitment to client service,”
says Martin Frederic Evans, presiding partner at Debevoise. “All the factors
that are measured – collegiality, public service, diversity — make the firms
better and contribute toward achieving excellence in client service. We are
very proud of the ambition, work and sense of collegiality among our lawyers
that helped produce these results.”

Debevoise was also ranked as the top firm in New York (and fourth
nationwide) for its commitment to pro bono work.
