NEW YORK, September 20, 2005- LAWFUEL – The Law News Network -Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP announced today that Olga Sirodoeva, an international M&A and credit finance lawyer and a recognized authority on Russian corporate and U.S.-Russian comparative law, will be joining the firm’s Washington, D.C., office as a partner. Orrick’s newly formed Russia practice group numbers 20 lawyers in Moscow, London and Washington, D.C. All the partners of the Moscow office of Coudert Brothers LLP joined Orrick this summer.

Sirodoeva focuses on cross-border acquisitions and finance, with an emphasis on real estate and oil and gas projects. She represents multinationals investing in Russia as well as Russian companies involved in transactions in the United States. She is a truly international lawyer, having practiced in New York, Washington, D.C., Moscow and Tokyo. Sirodoeva joins Orrick from the Washington, D.C., office of Coudert Brothers LLP where she was a partner. She is qualified to practice in New York, Washington, D.C. and Russia.

According to The Economist, the country’s GDP has grown on average 6.8% annually over the past five years. In addition, a Central Bank report cited by The Moscow Times indicates that foreign direct investment in Russia rose to $9.3 billion in the first half of 2005, compared to $4.5 billion in the first half of 2004, and that investment in Russian stocks and bonds is up 20% for the same period.
