Award Recognizes Significant Joint Achievements
NEW YORK, NY – LAWFUEL – Law Firm Newswire – December 5, 2007 – New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) is proud to announce that it has selected Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP to receive the 2007 “Partnering for Justice” Award. This is the second time the firm has received the award. This year’s selection was based, in part, on Patterson Belknap’s continuing pro bono efforts in connection with several NYLPI projects, including, among many others:
· a key case involving the rights of children in foster care with developmental and other disabilities;
· an initiative with New York State CARES to provide prompt and appropriate placement to individuals with developmental disabilities in the least restrictive setting; and
· a successful U.S. Supreme Court case involving the rights of children in New York with learning disabilities.
John Siffert, NYLPI’s Board Chair, will present the award at Patterson Belknap’s offices on Wednesday, December 5. Several lawyers from NYLPI and Patterson Belknap will attend and provide remarks.
