This multi-meter can act as an optical power meter, a stable light source or a loss measurement system. It measures optical loss and checks the performance of optical parts. The meter has a high definition backlit LCD screen and offers an AC-DC adaptor, a rechargeable Ni-Cd battery and dry cells as power sources for selection.
The optical multi-meter, model 2498A, is compact in size and light in weight. It covers wavelengths including 0.85µm, 1.30µm, 1.31µm and 1.55µm for optical loss measurement within a measurement range of 3dBm to -70dBm or 20dBm to -50dBm. This handheld multi-meter offers CW mode light signals with a measurement resolution of 0.1dBm to 1dB in W display mode or 0.01 to 0.1dB in REL display mode. The measurement range can be specified and set to be on and off. Additionally, the deviation of optical power sensor is compensated for automatically.
