Orange County Motorcycle Accidents Up

July 7, 2008 (by Otto Smyth) – According to reports by Ehline Law, there were several motorcycle accidents in and around Orange County. The vicinity of Bear Creek Road was the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident at approximately 4:00 p.m. when a 50 year old resident of San Jose whose identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.

Reports Say Rider Lost Control

According to reports the motorcycle rider lost control of his motorcycle, which then skidded off the road crashing into a telephone pole.  The unidentified man was transported to Dominican Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Passenger Identified

The mans passenger who has been identified as Verna Vignoni also age 50 of San Jose was transported by air to the Valley Medical Center with major head injuries. The scene of the accident closed Bear Creek Road for approximately two hours while the scene was investigated. According to reports the authorities are waiting for toxicology reports and feel that alcohol may have been involved. It was also reported that both riders were wearing helmets.

Motorcycle Crash Number Two

A second motorcycle accident that occurred in Santa Ysabel on Julian Road area at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday east of highways 78 and 79 sent two riders to the hospital according to the California Highway Patrol. It is unclear if there was one motorcycle or two involved in the accident and according to the first reports there were two but the California Highway Patrol has not confirmed this.

The two riders that were injured in the accident were transported by helicopter to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with critical injuries.  The traffic collision closed the Julian Road in the vicinity of Santa Ysabel Road and Wynola Road while the scene of the accident was investigated.

Lompoc

Lompoc area was the scene of a man who was riding a bicycle that was struck by a Ford Mustang that fled the scene after the accident. The Ford Mustang that is now reportedly silver or gray in color and has a license plate that ends in the numbers 480 according to the police struck Alfredo DeAlba.

DeAlba was transported to the hospital and is presently listed in fair condition.  According to reports the hit and run accident occurred on Saturday at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the 900 block of North A Street.
