Philadelphia, PA – September 13, 2004 LAWFUEL – Best for attorney news, legal research, law firms Neil Boyden Tanner, an attorney with
Pepper Hamilton LLP, recently was elected by the executive committee of the
Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (International Association of
Young Lawyers, or “AIJA”) as its National Representative from the United
States.

In this role, Mr. Tanner joins the executive committee of the worldwide
organization and will be primarily responsible for all AIJA members in the
United States, for all activities of the organization throughout the United
States, and for all activities of the organization relating to U.S. law
throughout the world.

Mr. Tanner was elected to the position at AIJA’s 42nd Annual Congress in
Naples, Italy, on August 24-28, 2004, where he also was presented with the
Past Presidents’ Award for his paper and presentation on “Liability for
Breaking Off Negotiations.”

Mr. Tanner is a senior associate in Pepper’s Philadelphia office, where he
concentrates his practice in corporate and technology transactions,
including securities, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing transactions.
He is a member of the firm’s international practice group and has worked in
Japan, Greece, New Zealand and throughout the United Kingdom. In addition
to AIJA, Mr. Tanner is active in several other international organizations,
including the British American Business Council and the Japan America
Society of Greater Philadelphia, serving on the executive committee and
board of directors of each.

The Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (www.aija.org) promotes
professional cooperation and friendship among young attorneys around the
world, through a wide range of meetings, seminars, law courses and advocacy.
AIJA consists of numerous commissions in a variety of practice areas,
including intellectual property and new technologies, international business
law, tax law, international arbitration, banking and finance, and many other
areas. AIJA regularly holds seminars on international legal issues and
widely publishes on them, as well. A nonprofit association organized under
the law of Luxembourg, AIJA has more than 3,000 members, aged 45 and under,
from around the world. AIJA was founded in 1962.
