Piper Rudnick LLP announces that Ann Hurwitz, a partner in the Franchise and Distribution practice group, will become the managing partner of the firm’s Dallas office.

“I’m very enthusiastic about taking on this responsibility,” Ms. Hurwitz said. “We have the substantial resources of a national firm behind us, and both the firm’s management and I believe strongly that our substantial presence in Dallas is key to the firm’s future.”

She continued, “Since our founding in 1999, we have grown to meet the needs of our regional clients and, increasingly, the needs of the firm’s clients across the country who have interests in Texas. This is a pattern I expect will continue and one that, as the office’s managing partner, I will be nurturing.”

Francis B. Burch, one of Piper Rudnick’s co-chairs, said, “With Ann’s rise to the post of managing partner, Piper Rudnick is reaffirming its commitment to the Dallas office and meeting the needs of our clients nationwide with superb resources in every major market. We are pleased that Ann has agreed to take over the managing partner role and we are confident that she will do a fine job.”

Ms. Hurwitz regularly counsels clients on the structuring and operation of franchise programs. She has devoted particular attention to the operational, relationship, and regulatory issues arising from various aspects of franchising. Ms. Hurwitz also frequently speaks to business and professional groups on franchising topics.

As managing partner, she will replace Thomas Bloodworth, who is stepping down after more than four years leading the Dallas office.
