RICHMOND, Va., June 24, 2004 – LAWFUEL – American Health Lawyers Association listed McGuireWoods LLP as seventh in the number of lawyers who belong to the AHLA, the nation’s largest educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. The listing was published in the AHLA’s June issue of Health Lawyers News.
“We announced that we launched a Health Care Department at McGuireWoods last October, devoted solely to providing legal services to health care clients across the United States,” said Robert L. Burrus, Jr., McGuireWoods chairman. “Nine months later, our leadership in serving clients in the health care industry is well established, as the number of our health care lawyers in the AHLA indicates.”
Core clients served by this department include hospitals and health systems, ambulatory surgery center companies and chains, dialysis facility companies and nephrology practices, pharmaceutical companies, and health care plans.
McGuireWoods’ Health Care Department currently represents three of the largest health care systems in the United States, two of the 10 largest surgery center companies in the country, and two of the six largest dialysis facility companies in the nation. McGuireWoods has 36 lawyers who are members of AHLA.
Eight of the 36 active members of the AHLA are located in the Richmond office of McGuireWoods, including Joseph P. McMenamin, David L. Richardson, R. Gordon Smith, Rosewell Page III, Robert Adams, Nancy R. Little, and Nathan A. Kottkamp.
