SANTA MONICA, Calif.–LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – Browne Greene has been retained by Patricia “Patti” Ballaz to represent her for injuries sustained on May 1, 2007 at an immigration rights rally held at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, CA. Ms. Ballaz was on assignment for Fox TV News and was covering the rally when she was allegedly attacked and beaten by members of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Browne Greene is preparing to immediately file a claim against the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Department, which will then be followed by a subsequent civil law suit against these entities for personal injury and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

“It appears that the Los Angeles Police Department has failed to learn lessons from its past in dealing with large crowd situations,” said Browne Greene. “To senselessly attack members of the public is outrageous, and we will do everything we can to make sure that Patti Ballaz has her day in court.”
