CHICAGO, IL & ATLANTA, GA —June 1, 2015— Schiff Hardin LLP today announced that Partner Eric L. Barnum will chair the firm’s Labor and Employment group. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta, GA office.
Mr. Barnum focuses his practice on a variety of matters related to employment law and litigation, including wrongful discharge, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour claims, and workplace violence. He advises clients across industries—from transportation to health care, retail to education, and real estate to banking. He also frequently conducts training and educational seminars on various aspects of employment law for lawyers and human resource professionals.
“The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is very active right now,” commented Mr. Barnum. “The reach and scope of the NLRB and how it’s interpreting its authority is expanding, and Schiff Hardin is helping clients adjust accordingly. Mr. Barnum takes the reigns from Patricia Costello Slovak, who has led the practice group since 2011. “Pat has been an extraordinary leader of the Labor and Employment group, and she looks forward to turning her full attention back to her practice” said Marci A.
