Seasoned Federal Prosecutor John P. Rowley III Joins Baker & McKenzie’s Compliance and Investigations Team

June 12, 2010 – LawFuel.com – Washington, D.C., June 2, 2010 – John P. Rowley III joins Baker & McKenzie LLP as a partner in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Rowley, an experienced trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor, joins the firm directly from Holland & Knight, where he co-chaired that firm’s white collar defense practice.

Mr. Rowley, a former Assistant US Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, brings more than 20 years of experience handling complex civil disputes and white collar criminal investigations. He represents government contractors in litigation with the federal government and companies being investigated for alleged violations of the False Claims Act and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Mr. Rowley also regularly works with in-house counsel and executive management proactively to ensure regulatory compliance and the prevention of corporate misconduct.

Mr. Rowley will play an integral role in the firm’s North American compliance, litigation, and white collar practices, joining a team of former prosecutors with deep experience in the US Department of Justice and, in particular, the Eastern District of Virginia, a jurisdiction increasingly focused on active investigation and prosecution of financial and securities fraud. Mr. Rowley will also work closely with the firm’s global Compliance and Dispute Resolution practice, which has more than 700 lawyers around the world.
