Simmons & Simmons is to open an office in Doha, Qatar in September 2003. Simmons & Simmons has been active in Qatar for some time and, in particular, has built close relations with the Qatari government in recent years. In addition to work for other clients, the firm has advised on significant corporate, financial markets, property and litigation matters for governmental bodies in Qatar. This work has up until now been serviced largely by the firm’s London office. In order to better service these existing levels of work and to develop our relationships within Qatar, the firm has decided to establish the Qatar office.
The Qatar office will be the nineteenth office in the firm’s international network and the second in the Middle East alongside the Abu Dhabi office. The Abu Dhabi office opened in 1994.
