Singapore – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – International U.S. Law Firm, Jones Day announced today the appointment of senior lawyer, Arman Galledari, as Partner in its Singapore Office, a move that reflects the U.S.-based Firm’s strategic aim to significantly bolster its regional projects practice. Galledari becomes the fifth partner in Jones Day’s Singapore Office.

Galledari specialises in international debt and project finance with a strong focus on the energy sector. He has acted on a significant number of complex energy and infrastructure projects advising private developers and corporates, governments, export credit agencies and lenders on limited recourse financings, debt restructurings and structured financings.

Commenting on his move, Galledari said “Jones Day has a growing global finance practice complimenting their traditional strengths in litigation and corporate. It is an exciting prospect to form a part of that initiative.”

Galledari is expected to target work in the Middle East where he has significant experience acting for Asian-based clients. As much of the Middle East work is serviced out of London, Galledari is expected to relocate to the U.K. towards the end of 2006 and continue to work closely with his Asia-based clients and the Singapore Office after his relocation.

Galledari’s major international clients include Tanjong plc whom he is currently advising on their acquisition of two power projects in Egypt, Petronas, Singapore Power, Mitsubishi, HSBC, and U.S. Exim.

Galledari joins Jones Day from U.K.-based law firm, Norton Rose, where he was management partner of the Singapore Office and head of the energy and project finance group for Asia. Galledari is taking an associate, Herman Yip, with him to Jones Day.

Arman has been awarded a number of accolades in recent years, including “Project Finance Lawyer of the year 2003” by Asian Legal Business, “Leading Lawyer in Project Finance” for the last three consecutive years by Asia Law and the last four consecutive years by Asia Pacific Legal 500 , and “Leading Lawyer in Project Finance” by International Who’s Who in Law.
