Skadden Mourns Passing of Partner Stu Finkelstein

Skadden Mourns Passing of Partner Stu FinkelsteinSkadden mourns the passing of our partner and friend Stu Finkelstein. Stu was truly a friend to all and beloved by everyone who knew him. He was warm-hearted, good-humored and genuinely interested in others.

Stu spent his entire career at Skadden, joining the firm after graduating from the University of Michigan Law School in 1985. His work advising corporate giants on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, debt and equity offerings, restructurings and joint ventures earned him a reputation as one of the nation’s top tax attorneys. As the co-leader of our global tax practice, he took greater pride in the recognition and accomplishments of our Tax Group.

Stu also was devoted to not-for-profit and pro bono work, serving on the boards of a number of organizations and winning awards for his dedication.

Stu is survived by his wife, Beth, and their kids, Sam and Julia. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
