he Commerce Commission’s purpose is to promote dynamic and responsive markets so that New Zealanders benefit from competitive prices, better quality and greater choice.

The Legal Services Branch handles challenging and cutting-edge work. In a fast-paced environment we deal with complex competition and regulatory issues that confront the Commission. As a part of the Legal Regulatory Group both roles will have a strong focus on mergers and acquisitions, including applications for clearance and authorisations.

The roles will require in-depth experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, and on regulatory and competition issues within New Zealand. Experience in industries subject to economic regulation, such as dairy, electricity and telecommunications, would be an advantage.
You will have proven legal experience in mergers and acquisitions, competition or regulatory law. You will be a persuasive communicator with sound relationship management skills and be able to influence others, respond to changing circumstances and work both independently and as a part of the legal team.
