Phillips Fox takes Law Firm of the Year Award
Phillips Fox has been recognised by the insurance industry at the inaugural Australia and New Zealand Insurance Awards dinner, winning the Law Firm of the Year Award last week.

Presiding judge and CEO of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance, Joan Fitzpatrick said “Phillips Fox stood out, offering more than just legal advice and support to help its insurance clients cope with the challenges during 2003 and 2004.”

Judging the prestigious awards were some of the industry’s leading international experts, including the CEO of the Australia & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance, chairman of QBE Insurance Group, chief executive of the International Underwriting Association of London, president of the Australian Insurance Law Association and head of the Insurance Council of New Zealand.
The firm’s claims cost reduction initiative and its full range of insurance-related services, scored highly with the judging panel, Ms Fitzpatrick explained.
Phillips Fox managing director, Insurance & Risk Management, Russell Adams said “The Award recognises our commitment to being at the forefront of the critical issues affecting our clients and to providing cost-effective legal solutions that deliver results. We are delighted to have received it,”
“In an environment where the effects of legislative reform are still being understood and many major insurers continue to consolidate, our challenge is to build on the team’s success to date and continue our role as a trusted advisor to the insurance industry,” Mr Adams said.
