The national law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP (K&L) is pleased to announce that Anthony H. Handal, founding partner of Handal & Morofsky, joins K&L as a partner in the New York office. He is joined at K&L by an associate and a patent agent from that firm.

Handal has over 30 years of experience in litigation, opinion work, licensing, and the development of technology and other intellectual properties, as well as the enforcement and procurement of intellectual property rights in Europe and Asia. Among his accomplishments, Handal has served as lead counsel in over 160 intellectual property lawsuits and has obtained over 700 patents for clients in such diverse areas as biomedical systems, computer technologies, electronic systems, drugs and mechanical systems.

Handal has successfully represented a diverse clientele, ranging from major corporations to individuals. Recent projects include the creation and sale of a $10 million biotech portfolio, and the integration of an electronic trading patent portfolio into one of the major Wall Street investment houses. Present patent litigation clients include a billion-dollar consumer appliance manufacturer, one of the major national retailers, and major players in the toy industry, among others.
