The scandalous court case involving a Hollywood gumshoe accused of snooping on the stars has drawn in another high-profile suspect.

Antony Pellicano, a private investigator, is being held in prison without bail while he waits to stand trial on 110 charges of illegal phone-tapping and accessing police records, in search of dirt on high profile victims including the actor Sylvester Stallone and comedians Garry Shandling and Kevin Nealon.

It is reported that Pellicano describes himself as a “sin eater”, hired by the lawyers of powerful people to use illegal methods to make their problems go away. So far, Robert Pfeifer, the president of Hollywood Records, and Abner Nicherie, a Las Vegas businessmen, have been accused of being Pellicano’s clients.

Now the case has drawn into its ambit Terry Christensen, a respected Hollywood lawyer of 30 years standing, who has been charged with hiring Mr Pellicano to eavesdrop on the phone calls of the ex-wife of Kirk Kerkorian, 88, the billionaire MGM Studio boss who is ranked as America’s 19th richest person.
