UK Police Charge Two Under Terrorism Act

Officers from the MPS Counter Terrorism Command have this evening (16/10/08) charged two people under the Terrorism Act 2000.

[A] Adam MOHAMED, 28, of Chessington, and [B] Imad SHOUBAKI, 31, of Merton, will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow (17/10/07) charged as follows.

MOHAMED:

Count 1:
On or before the 4th October 2007 you conspired together to possess money or other property and you intended that it should be used or had reasonable cause to suspect that it might be used for the purposes of terrorism. Contrary to Section 1 Criminal Law Act 1977 [relating to Section 16 Terrorism Act 2000]

Count 2:
On or before 4th October 2007 you possessed an article, namely a disc with the file containing the book “Zaad e Mujahid” in circumstances which give rise to a reasonable suspicion that your possession thereof is for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. Contrary to Section 57(1) Terrorism Act 2000.

SHOUBAKI:

Count 1:
On or before the 4th October 2007 you conspired together to possess money or other property and you intended that it should be used or had reasonable cause to suspect that it might be used for the purposes of terrorism. Contrary to Section 1 Criminal Law Act 1977 [relating to Section 16 Terrorism Act 2000]

Count 2:
On or before 4th October 2007 you possessed an article, namely a computer disc PNT/63 containing files titled “How to become an assassin” and “Zaad e Mujahid” in circumstances which give rise to a reasonable suspicion that your possession thereof is for a purpose connected with the commission,preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. Contrary to Section 57(1)Terrorism Act 2000.

Count 3:
On or before 4th October 2007 you possessed a document or record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism,namely a file on a computer disc titled “How to become an assassin”. Contrary to Section 58(1)(b) Terrorism Act 2000.

Count 4:
On or before 4th October 2007 you possessed a document or record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, namely a file on a computer disc exhibit NJH/156 detailing how to make explosives. Contrary to Section 58(1)(b) Terrorism Act 2000.
