US Legal news – Winstead Adds Marshall White to Public Finance Practice Group

Houston (Feb 29, 2008) — Marshall T. White, a public finance attorney, has joined Texas law firm Winstead PC. He will be working as Of Counsel in Winstead’s Public Finance Practice Group for the Business & Transactions Department out of Winstead’s Houston office.

White comes to Winstead from Dorsey & Whitney LLP, where he was the sole public finance partner for Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. He focused his practice on public and corporate finance, where he was responsible for bond counsel, underwriters’ counsel, and borrowers’ counsel, in which he drafted resolutions, indentures, tax and arbitrage certificates, and closing documents. He also helped with their Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets Practice Groups.

White holds significant experience in public finance practice and transactional law after holding previous partner and senior counsel positions in various private firms for the past ten years. Additionally, prior to working in the Public Finance Practice, White served for six years as a Texas state persecutor in Del Rio and Amarillo, Texas; as well as serving as a trial attorney in private firms for three years before concentrating his practice in the area of public finance.

White has been admitted to work in Texas, Alaska, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas and the District of Alaska. He is currently a member of the Alaska Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. White received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1988, and prior to that received his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. White also served in the U.S. Army Special Operations Reserves, retiring from service in 1999.
