WASHINGTON, May 3 – LAWFUEL – Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP
announced today that Richard A. Drom has joined the Firm as a partner. Mr.
Drom will lead the Firm’s energy practice. He was most recently a partner at
the law firm of Troutman Sanders in Washington, D.C. Mr. Drom’s practice will
be based in Powell Goldstein’s Washington Office.

Mr. Drom began his career as a logistics engineer with Lockheed, after
earning his B.S. in Economics from the Revelle College at the University of
Southern California at San Diego. After earning a M.S.S.M. from that same
institution, summa cum laude, he completed his J.D. from the University of
Southern California in 1980. He focuses his practice in energy, with
particular focus in electricity, natural gas and oil matters. His background
includes corporate transactions, complex contracts, state and federal
regulatory and legislative issues. He is a member of the Pennsylvania,
Washington, D. C., Virginia and California Bars, and is licensed to practice
before the U. S. Supreme Court and numerous Federal Appellate and District
Courts. Rick also served as Vice President, General Counsel and Board
Secretary with PJM Interconnection, LLC, a regional transmission organization
(RTO) that plays a vital role in the U.S. electric system.
