Houston, TX, Jun. 16, 2010 – Winstead PC has hired Stephanie Loomis-Price as a shareholder. Her practice is focused on federal gift and estate tax litigation as well as state court fiduciary litigation. She brings more than 12 years of experience to Winstead’s Wealth Preservation and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Loomis-Price was previously with Baker Botts.
A Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Loomis-Price is a frequent speaker and author, currently serving as probate editor of the quarterly Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Reporter, published by the State Bar of Texas. She has assisted clients in numerous disputes with the Internal Revenue Service in the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Eighth, and Eleventh Circuits. Her presentations and publications cover topics on estate taxes, family limited partnerships, IRS appeals, and audits, to name a few. Loomis-Price also counsels clients in estate administration.
Named a “Lawyer on the Fast Track” by H Texas magazine, a Texas Rising Star and a Best Lawyer in America, Loomis-Price has been recognized and honored for her legal skills and dedication in the field of law and trust and estates. She was awarded the Judge Thomas Gibbs Gee Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service in 2009.
Prior to her private practice, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence S. Margolis of the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. Loomis-Price received her J.D. (cum laude) from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.S. from The Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. from Austin College.
