18 November 2004 – LAWFUEL – Law, legal, attorney news – DLA LLP has advised Bank of Scotland on its provision of £514,000,000 debt and equity funding, which is to be utilised in part to fund the recommended £218,000,000 cash offer for the entire issued share capital of Countryside Properties Plc, the well-known housebuilder.
Banking partner Philip Butler led the DLA banking team that advised on the deal. Banking solicitors, Brendon Pinch, Tim Rennie, Nichola Shaw and trainee solicitor Rebecca Sansum assisted Philip. Significant input was also received from real estate finance partners Stephen O’Brien and Helen Dyer. Partner, Elizabeth Walters led the corporate team advising on the deal and was assisted by associate, Jonathan Richards and solicitor, Juan Perez Tejedor.
Philip Butler said:
“We are delighted to have acted for the Bank of Scotland on this transaction. We originally acted for the bank on a joint venture with Countryside earlier in the year and it reflects well on the joint venture product that the bank was then mandated to underwrite the financing for the public to private. We are now hoping that the offer will be successful and that we can finish the job we have started.”
