Smith’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including class actions, contract disputes, business torts, banking issues, and bankruptcy actions, as well as product liability claims. He has extensive experience in handling significant matters on behalf of major corporations in various industries, including banking, energy, pharmaceuticals, water distribution, telecommunications, and financial services.
Smith has tried cases before state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York, including obtaining a multi-million dollar judgment on behalf of a telecommunications company in a case involving contract and fraud claims. In addition to having substantial state and federal appellate experience, including successful arguments before the New Jersey Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, he also has significant experience with alternate dispute resolution proceedings, including matters administered by the American Arbitration Association.
