19 September 2004 LAWFUEL – Best for law news, legal, attorney, media law, legal research UK’s largest newspaper publisher appoints DLA as national employment law supplier.

DLA is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by Trinity Mirror to provide national employment law advice alongside Lovells and Dundas Wilson. DLA’s Human Resources Group was formally invited to pitch for the work, which is likely to include a range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues, strategic advice and training and development. Trinity Mirror was keen to restructure its panel of external legal advisers for employment law from 12 to 3 in order to improve service levels and encourage a more coordinated, strategic approach. These are key elements of the service that will be provided by DLA.

Employment partner, Mary Clarke led the DLA pitching team, which also included Daniel Pollick (Director of IT), Peter Thompson (employment partner), Robin Broughton (employment associate) and Jane Dunn, (employment solicitor).

Trinity Mirror is the UK’s largest newspaper publisher, with over 11,500 staff and 250 titles. Its media businesses include national and regional newspapers, websites, magazines and exhibitions. Trinity Mirror was born out of the merger between Trinity plc and Mirror Group plc in September 1999.
