5 April 2004 – Linklaters has appointed Pim Horsten, a highly regarded Dutch capital markets partner, to its Amsterdam office.

Pim, formerly a partner at Allen & Overy, has more than ten years of experience in a broad range of capital markets work including debt, equity-linked, equities and derivatives, as well as regulatory advice for finance work generally.

As a Dutch lawyer, his appointment provides an important boost to both Linklaters’ global capital markets practice and the Amsterdam office – which already has a strong reputation for finance work in The Netherlands. Clients will now be offered both Dutch and international law advice.

Richard Levy, a partner in Linklaters’ Amsterdam office, said:

“We have been looking for someone just like Pim to start our Dutch law practice. We’ve got a great track record for Dutch finance work, and Pim’s election will allow us to build on this. His election is also an important step in the development of our capability in The Netherlands generally, which is an important market for us. We are committed to further growth in Amsterdam.”

Nick Eastwell, Linklaters head of capital markets, added:

“Pim and Richard will make for a strong team with a proven track record in Amsterdam. They allow us to add another major European jurisdiction to the list of those in which we are a leading law firm, providing both local and international legal advice in the capital markets field.”
