August 2006 – New York, NY – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – the international law firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP is pleased to announce the addition of John D. Ferrell to the firm’s New York office. Mr. Ferrell joins as a partner in the Banking & Finance Practice group, and comes to Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw from Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton where he was responsible for catapulting the firm’s California-based finance practice onto the national scene.

“We’re delighted to have John join our group,” said Peter Darrow, co-practice leader for the Finance Group. “With over 35 years of combined experience both in the public and private sector, John will be an asset and a great compliment to the Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw/New York team.”

Mr. Ferrell worked at Merrill Lynch & Co. for over 10 years, first as the General Counsel of a subsidiary, and then as Managing Director of Investment Banking. He went on to become the Managing Partner at Englewood Partners, focusing on deals, securities and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, Mr. Ferrell worked as a senior attorney for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
