INDIANAPOLIS– LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire –Two leading Indianapolis law firms have merged. The law firm of Michael McMains, the nation’s foremost expert in pharmacy law and one of the state’s leading experts in health and business law has merged with John Lewis and Wilkins (www.JLaw-firm.com), a firm specializing in complex litigation, state and municipal governmental services, and business counseling. The resulting firm retains the John Lewis and Wilkins moniker and is located in the Guaranty Building in downtown Indianapolis.

Michael McMains noted that the merger enables him to step away from the daily management of a growing law firm and concentrate on teaching, community service and other business ventures. McMains has been an active adjunct professor, teaching pro bono at Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Butler University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He also teaches at Indiana University School of Law—Indianapolis. In addition, he has been involved in a number of start-up companies and serves on several corporate boards.

“Since founding my law firm 12 years ago, I’ve had the good fortune to work with outstanding attorneys in representing the interests of some of the most respected businesses and individuals in Indiana,” said Michael McMains. “This merger with John Lewis and Wilkins gives our clients continuity of representation, and allows me to devote more time to pursuing my interests in teaching, business and government service.”

McMains will join John Lewis and Wilkins as “Of Counsel” and will be available for clients on a limited basis. The majority of McMains attorneys and all of the staff have joined John Lewis and Wilkins in their current positions.

“This merger is a good fit for both practices because we mutually hold the same values in high-esteem,” said John Lewis, managing partner of John Lewis and Wilkins. “Our philosophies converge on providing the best legal advice while developing practical, affordable solutions for our clients’ legal issues.”
