Lawfuel – The Law Newswire – Irvine, CA – May 9, 2007 – Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that it has expanded its Orange County, California, office with the addition of Michael L. Meeks as a partner in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Meeks focuses his practice on commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, business dissolution disputes and insolvency litigation.
“Michael is a seasoned litigator with a track record of successfully defending clients in false advertising class actions and unfair business practice claims,” said Sharon R. Mr. Meeks joins Pepper from the Orange County office of Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC, where he had been a senior attorney since 2004. Before that, he was a partner with McDermott, Will & Emery in Los Angeles.
Mr. Meeks’ practice includes commercial litigation, manufacturer/distributor litigation, copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and false advertising litigation, products liability claims, and insolvency litigation involving preferential and fraudulent transfers. His clients have included national manufacturers and retailers, Internet retailers and health maintenance organizations, as well as receivers, assignees for the benefit of creditors, and bankruptcy trustees.

Mr. Meeks is a graduate of Pepperdine University (B.S. 1990) and the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law (J.D. 1994). Before entering law school, he was an accountant with Arthur Andersen.
