A young lawyer has lost his legal bid to obtain damages from NatWest for “unfair” penalty charges. The case against the bank was dismissed by a judge at the City of London County Court.
His application to appeal the decision was also denied but he was told NatWest would not be seeking costs from him in the case.
Martin Lewis, of consumer website MoneySavingExpert.com, who has been leading a campaign against penalty charges, said the outcome of the case was unlikely to have an impact on the test case to be heard at the High Court.
