Katharine is an impressive litigation lawyer who specialises in medical negligence and has successfully defended a number of Supreme and District trials on behalf of health care professional defendants. She also represents health care practitioners in disciplinary matters.
She works extensively with clients such as Queensland Health, the Medical Indemnity Protection Society and the Medical Insurance Group Australia.
Katharine has a Masters in Health & Medical Law at the University of Melbourne and spent a twelve month appointment as Crown Counsel of Tuvalu (a small Pacific Island nation) through the Australian Volunteers Abroad program.
Katharine has more than fifteen years experience in personal injury litigation. In addition, she has been involved in claims for defamation, general advice and advising on the redrafting of governing legislation.
She is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland Committee, the Australian Red Cross (Qld) International Humanitarian Law Committee and the Belmont Private Hospital Ethics Committee and Community Advisory Board.
