Amsterdam – LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – DLA Piper is pleased to announce that leading Dutch Information Technology (“IT”) lawyer Anja Dekhuijzen has joined its Technology, Media & Commercial practice group as a partner. Anja previously worked for Dutch law firm Van Doorne, where she was a partner in the IT practice group and chaired the Outsourcing and Offshoring team.
Anja has over 15 years’ experience in IT law. She advises on all Information Communication Technology (“ICT”)-related legal issues, including IT contracts, outsourcing, software copyright, privacy and liabilities. Anja also assists clients on e-commerce and IT related matters concerning takeovers.
Commenting on her appointment, Anja said: “My ambition has always been to work in an international setting and DLA Piper is the biggest legal services provider in the world. Moreover, it has a strong Dutch and international IT practice. I am delighted by the opportunity to help shape an already renowned IT practice, within a dynamic environment such as DLA Piper.”
Anja, 41, has an LLM and a degree in Public Administration Law from Amsterdam University. She also holds a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence degree from New York University and a post-doctoral degree in IT law from the Grotius Academy in Amsterdam. To date, Anja has written over 100 publications and lectures on IT, outsourcing and e-commerce. She teaches at the Grotius Academy and is a frequent conference speaker at events organised by Platform Outsourcing Nederland, the International Technology Law (Itechlaw) Association and CIO Day.
