Global law firm Freshfields has named Mark Sansom as its new global Client Partner, with Victoria Sigeti appointed as the firm’s new UK Managing Partner.

Sansom will have responsibility for shaping and driving the firm’s global client strategy across practice groups and sectors. He will continue his client work in full alongside undertaking the new role.

During his time as London and Dublin lead, Sansom led the business through a period of sustained growth, while strengthening collaboration across practices and continuing to evolve the firm’s people offering.

Based in London, Sigeti will lead the firm’s UK business, working closely with colleagues across the region and globally to drive strategic priorities. She will undertake the role’s responsibilities alongside her full client practice.

A leading private capital partner, Sigeti advises global clients on some of their most complex transactions. She has also played a significant role in Freshfields’ expansion of its private capital offering and in developing a multigenerational bench of talent across the firm more widely.

Freshfields Senior Partner Georgia Dawson commented: “Mark’s appointment as global Client Partner reflects the importance we place on a strong, integrated client strategy at a global level, and I’m delighted he will be leading this work for the firm. I would also like to thank Mark for the impact he has had as our UK and Ireland regional managing partner. I’m pleased to announce Victoria as his successor; her leadership experience and client focus make her exceptionally well placed to drive forward our UK business as a core part of Freshfields’ global platform.”

Sansom said: “Leading Freshfields’ UK and Ireland business has been hugely rewarding. I’m excited to build on that experience in my new role, with a firmwide focus on deepening our client relationships and supporting the firm’s continued growth.”

Sigeti said: “It is a privilege to be appointed as UK Managing Partner, building on the strong legacy of leadership in this role. London remains central to our global success, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to continue delivering for our clients and investing in the next generation of talent.”
