Private equity-backed Lawfront is stepping harder on the consolidation accelerator, adding two more regional law firms as its acquisition count reaches 18 in five years and projected group revenue hits £175 million.
The fast-growing UK legal services group has announced that Fisher Jones Greenwood has acquired 35-strong South Essex firm Giles Wilson, while Lancashire-based Farleys has acquired Clitheroe firm Houldsworth Solicitors, bringing its entire 27-person team into Farleys.

The deals are more than another couple of pins on Lawfront’s increasingly crowded map.
Backed by private equity investor Blixt, Lawfront has been pursuing a buy-and-build strategy based on retaining established regional brands while providing capital, technology, AI, management support and acquisition firepower from the centre. The group now operates through seven regional firms including Nelsons, Slater Heelis, Brachers, Trethowans and Field Seymour Parkes.
And the acquisition machine appears unlikely to stop here.
Lawfront has just completed a refinancing with Investec designed specifically to provide additional capacity for expansion and further acquisitions. The group says more deals are already on the horizon.
For a UK regional legal market facing mounting consolidation pressure, Lawfront is becoming one of the more interesting experiments in whether private equity can deliver national scale without destroying the local firms it buys.

uesday 8 September: Lawfront, the leading regional legal services group, has today announced two further acquisitions from group firms Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG) and Farleys. These acquisitions bolster Lawfront’s foothold across the regional legal market whilst further expanding the capacity and capabilities of regional leaders FJG and Farleys. This brings Lawfront’s total number of acquisitions to 18 over five years.
Leading Essex and Suffolk law firm FJG has acquired Giles Wilson, a 35-strong Leigh-on-Sea firm with robust roots in the South Essex region. The acquisition further accelerates FJG’s growth and presence across East Anglia, and expands on the firm’s high performing Private Client practice with a new dedicated Vulnerable Client team.
Meanwhile, Lancashire firm Farleys’ acquisition of Clitheroe-based Houldsworth Solicitors has strengthened its well-established presence across the region, the third acquisition completed by Farleys since joining Lawfront.
With the full 27-strong team from Houldsworth set to join Farleys, existing clients of the firm will benefit from continuity of relationships alongside access to wider expertise from across Farleys’ team.
These acquisitions continue the momentum in Lawfront’s ambitious growth strategy, taking group revenue to a projected £175m this year. This accelerated growth is the result of Lawfront’s support for its firms across tech and AI adoption, investment in people, and providing the backing to complete further acquisitions.
