Allen & Overy strengthens its global litigation practice with the promotions of London-based associates Mark Levy and James Partridge to the partnership, effective 1 May 2004. The appointments are part of the promotion of 21 new partners throughout Allen & Overy's network of offices. New partners are being made up in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Bratislava, Brussels, Dubai, Germany, London, Moscow, New York, the Philippines and Tokyo. Commenting on the promotions, Managing Partner of the Global Litigation department, Peter Watson, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mark and James to the partnership. They both joined us as trainees and this promotion is testament to their ability to represent the firm's exceptional professional and technical standards. We are committed to growing our global litigation capabilities and hope to be announcing further partnership appointments in the coming months." Biographical details: Mark Levy graduated with a degree in English literature from Exeter College, Oxford in 1991 and then attended Chester Law School. He joined Allen & Overy as a trainee in March 1995. After a short time in the Hong Kong office, he qualified into the Litigation department in March 1997. He works in the commercial litigation group and is a member of the firm's international arbitration group. James Partridge studied law at King's College London and graduated with first class honours in 1992. He completed his Law Society Finals in Chester and joined Allen & Overy as a trainee in 1994, spending six months in the Prague office. He qualified into the Litigation department in 1996. He specialises in banking and finance and trust, asset tracing and fraud litigation and is currently based at Canary Wharf.
