PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – Dario Romo-Bravo, 43, of Mexico, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Roslyn O. Silver to 87 months in prison. Romo-Bravo pleaded guilty on March 6, 2008, to Illegal Re-Entry After a Prior Deportation.
Romo-Bravo was previously deported from the U.S. through San Ysidro, Calif., on September 19, 2006, and was instructed not to return to the U.S. unlawfully. Romo-Bravo re-entered the U.S. and was found near Phoenix on July 29, 2007. He is a repeat offender who has been convicted for several felonies including Illegal Re-Entry After Deportation, Theft, Burglary in the Second Degree, Burglary in the Third Degree, and Endangerment. Romo-Bravo also has 16 misdemeanor convictions in the U.S., including convictions for assault, shoplifting, burglary from a vehicle, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation in this case was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Raymond K. Woo, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
