(LAWFUEL) – New York – January 7, 2009 – Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is pleased to announce that John Forbes Anderson, Neil I. Chang, Nathan Parker and Victor A. Snegirev have been named International Counsel to the firm.
John Forbes Anderson, based in the firm’s London office, is a member of the firm’s Tax Department. His practice focuses on the tax aspects of international private investment fund formation, including private equity, debt and real estate investment funds, and cross-border acquisitions, dispositions and financings. Mr. Anderson joined the firm in 2000 and was resident in the firm’s New York office before joining the London office in 2003. He received his B.A. with honors in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley (1996) and his J.D. from Yale Law School (2000), where he was an Olin Fellow.
Neil I. Chang, based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department. Mr. Chang’s practice focuses on capital markets transactions, international mergers & acquisitions and private equity financings and advises a number of Asia-based, U.S.-listed companies. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, serving primarily the financial institutions, technology and media sectors. He also was previously an associate with Perkins Coie and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich, LLP. He received his B.A. from the University of Washington (1991), M.A. from the University of Chicago (1994), J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law (1998) and M.B.A. from Oxford University (2004).
Nathan Parker, based in the firm’s London office, is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department. His practice focuses primarily on corporate and acquisition financing transactions as well as restructurings, structured financings and debt capital markets. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Parker was an associate at Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Melbourne and London and at Allen & Overy in London. He received his B.A. and LL.B. with honors from Monash University, Australia (1997).
Victor A. Snegirev, based in the firm’s Moscow office, is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department. His practice focuses on acquisition, finance and leasing of aircraft. Before joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Snegirev was a senior associate at DLA Piper. Mr. Snegirev graduated from the Moscow Institute for Electronics with a degree in physics (1991) and received a law degree from the International Law Faculty of the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO) (1996).
