18 January 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Global law firm Clifford Chance is pleased to announce the promotion of two
senior lawyers to Counsel.

Cao Yanping, based in the firm’s Shanghai office, is with the capital
markets and corporate and securities practice, specialising in private
equity and capital markets transactions in China. Prior to joining Clifford
Chance in Shanghai in 2003, Yanping practised with leading US law firms in
New York and California for six years. Since returning to Shanghai in 2003,
Yanping has focused on private equity investments representing multilateral
institutions, US and European private equity funds, as well as acquisitions
and US securities work.

She was the lead associate on the Clifford Chance
team that recently advised Amazon.com in its acquisition of Joyo.com.
Landry Guesdon, a corporate and securities lawyer based in Tokyo, qualified
in France and admitted in Japan as a registered foreign lawyer, focuses on
local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures in various
jurisdiction, employment law, regulatory banking, insurance, competition and
intellectual property. He has been with Clifford Chance in Tokyo since 1997,
following two years in Vietnam and periods in Shanghai with the local
offices of Clifford Chance, and eight years in the Japan desk of Clifford
Chance Paris.
